Our Lady of Hope Clinic

What is NaPro Technology?

Dr. Mike Kloess here at Our Lady of Hope Clinic in Madison, Wisconsin is a certified Creighton Model FertilityCare® System Natural Family Planning medical consultant. Dr. Kloess has years of experience in helping women achieve and sustain pregnancies through the use of NaPro Technology, short for Natural Procreative Technology.

Works With, Not Against, the Woman’s Cycle

NaPro Technology uses biomarkers within the woman’s cycle to identify obstacles to pregnancy, including underlying health issues. The Creighton Model FertilityCare System provides the framework for both the woman and her physician to track and monitor hormonal levels during her cycle.

NaPro Technology is designed to help optimize a woman’s natural cycle. It can be used to either achieve or naturally avoid pregnancy, instead of suppressing fertility through artificial birth control, which often creates unwelcome side effects in women. NaPro treats a woman’s cycle as a healthy natural function of the human body instead of an illness that needs to be cured.

Natural, Custom Fertility Care

NaPro Technology provides custom fertility care that isn’t possible with standard fertility treatment. By working with the data from the woman’s own cycle, NaPro provides tailored treatment and solutions unique to the individual patient instead of a one-size-fits-all approach.

By closely monitoring the woman’s cycle from month to month, hidden health problems in the individual patient are often uncovered. This type of close observation helps get to the root of women’s health issues.

Other forms of fertility treatment often approach women’s health issues with general hormonal treatments that do not resolve the patient’s underlying health condition. These treatments, such as chemical birth control, often carry with them undesirable side effects.

Early Pregnancy Care

About eighty percent of miscarriages occur in the first trimester. By keeping a close eye on biomarkers, NaPro provides the physician with the data to catch any early warning signs, such as low hormonal levels. This type of early pregnancy care can help prevent early miscarriages.

Many women have had the heart-wrenching experience of enduring several miscarriages around the same week of early pregnancy, often before their first ob appointment. Dr. Kloess has had success in using NaPro to identify and correct hormonal issues in his patients, resulting in their ability to carry to full term.

Applications Beyond Fertility

By providing a wealth of information about the woman’s cycle, NaPro can be used to treat issues beyond fertility, including abnormal bleeding, ovarian cysts, premenstrual syndrome, and postpartum depression.

Hope

Issues and complications related to women’s cycles can present themselves in sometimes vague, complicated, or ever-changing symptoms. In a one-size-fits-all approach to women’s health care, those issues can be overlooked, dismissed, or misdiagnosed.

If you have undiagnosed, recurring symptoms you believe might be related to your cycle, we strongly encourage you to become a member of Our Lady of Hope Clinic. Learning about your specific health situation may shed light on your symptoms and present a clear path forward.

At Our Lady of Hope Clinic , we believe in hope and in the potential of a better future for our patients through improved health. If you are interested in learning if NaPro Technology can help you, please call to inquire about membership to the clinic at: (608) 819-8544.
